Customer Success Stories

Proven Results in High Weed Pressure Fields

“I used a GrassWorks Weed Wiper for the first time in 2019. I had a farm covered with pigweeds that we hand-pulled three times and used the weed wiper twice towards the end. The weeds were relentless in our efforts to remove them until we used the weed wiper. I was amazed at how well it burned the weeds. The weed wiper is a great investment for high weed pressure fields.”

Effective for Roadside Maintenance

“In ODOT Division Two, we have purchased three GrassWorks Weed Wipers: one pull-type and two flex types. These systems have proven to be effective and economical for our roadside maintenance program. We have experienced a reduction in mowing cycles and difficulty in mowing Johnson grass. We appreciate the ability to apply herbicide near sensitive crops and farmland without the risk of drift. We are pleased with the construction and reliability of these units and look forward to purchasing more in the future.”

Long-Term Smutgrass Management

“We’ve used wick applicators in our operation and could not kill smutgrass. We purchased a GrassWorks Weed Wiper 3-Point Tractor Mount Unit back in 2008 and have had very good success in killing and managing our smutgrass problem. We let our cattle graze the smutgrass when it was young and tender in early spring, but when it started getting tough and was still green, we started wiping with the GrassWorks Weed Wiper. We’ve also had great success wiping noxious weeds in our perennial peanuts and other hay and pasture fields.”

Targeted Control for Johnson Grass

“I have a 60-acre farm and use the GrassWorks Weed Wiper in my hayfields to manage Johnson grass. Not only did I have excellent kill results, but I really liked the fact that I had no drip or drifting issues. The unit works very well, and I’d highly recommend this weed management system.”

Kentucky Hay and Pasture Farmer

“We have been using the Grass Works Weed Wiper for two seasons now. It works great in our prairies wiping sumac and other brush species with triclopyr based herbicides. Mounted on a tractor front loader, we are able to raise and lower the attachment to the appropriate height and avoid getting chemical on desirable prairie species. Avoiding collateral damage is very important to us to maintain the diversity and integrity of our remnant prairies. Removing large patches of brush from our prairies with the weed wiper has allowed us to better achieve our prairie management goals.”

Versatile for Row Crop Applications

“The GrassWorks Weed Wiper works great in our sweet potatoes and other row crop applications. We currently use a 30’ Rigid Unit, but because the chemical-resistant pigweed acreage is quickly increasing, we feel the new 40’ Flex Unit will work even better.”

— North Carolina White Hersh Farm

Cotton Farmers’ Experience

“We have a family farm with around 1,800 acres of cotton. The pigweed was our biggest nuisance. After spending thousands of dollars on chopping, we decided to purchase the GrassWorks Weed Wiper. The Weed Wiper works great, and usually with one wipe, the weeds are under control. We’ve started using it on turn rows to keep the weeds from returning to the field. For the applications we use it for, it paid for itself within the first year and is an excellent tool for our farming practices.”
